The 49ers will have to re-schedule a visit from free-agent wide receiver Kevin Dorsey, whose travel plans to the Bay Area on Tuesday were canceled due to bad weather on the East Coast.
Dorsey, whom the Green Bay Packers released last week, is traveling to meet with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday. He has also worked out with the New York Jets and New England Patriots. The trip to meet with the 49ers has not been rescheduled, said agent Chad Wiestling.
Dorsey, 24, was a seventh-round draft pick in 2013 from Maryland. He missed most of his rookie season with a hamstring injury and was placed on injured reserve with a toe injury. He appeared in three games for the Packers last season, recording one reception for 4 yards, before sustaining a season-ending broken foot.
Teams are allowed to negotiate and sign players who have been released before the opening of the free-agent signing period on March 10.
The 49ers are reportedly scheduled to meet with veteran receiver/return man Ted Ginn on Wednesday. The Arizona Cardinals released Ginn last week.
