One of the lasting memories of the first season at Levi’s Stadium was Seattle Seahawks players Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson sitting down at midfield to eat turkey on Thanksgiving night after their team feasted on the 49ers.
Next year, another NFC West opponent has designs on making Levi’s Stadium its home away from home.
Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians, who was named NFL Coach of the Year on Saturday night, told his team’s website that he figures to be playing in the final game of the season next year. Super Bowl 50 is set for Feb. 7, 2016, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
“We’re dressing in their locker room,” said Arians, who was described as smiling when he said it. “We can write it down today.”
The Cardinals finished second in the NFC West with an 11-5 record before their season ended with a 27-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC wild-card round of the playoffs. The 49ers and Cardinals split their two regular-season meetings.
