WASHINGTON – Rookie defensive lineman Tank Carradine, a second-round draft pick, was one of just two healthy inactives for the 49ers on Monday against Washington.
Carradine, who sustained a torn ACL a year ago, has yet to make his NFL debut. Carradine, who has not been listed on the injury report since being activated to the 53-man roster, has not adjusted to the style of defense the 49ers ask of their defensive lineman.
Third quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who has yet to suit up for a game since the 49ers claimed him off waivers on Oct. 9, is the only other healthy 49ers player on the inactive list.
The 49ers inactive list includes three starters: left guard Mike Iupati (knee), cornerback Tarell Brown (ribs) and defensive lineman Ray McDonald (ankle).
Adam Snyder will start at left guard for Iupati. Tramaine Brock is slated to started at cornerback for Brown. And Tony Jerod-Eddie will make his second consecutive start in place of McDonald.
Wide receiver Michael Crabtree remains on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list and is not eligible to play in the game. The 49ers will activate him to the 53-man roster on Tuesday, and it’s possible he will make his season debut on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. Crabtree sustained a torn right Achilles in May.
