The 49ers will do some traveling during the exhibition season with a trip to Baltimore for a Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh exhibition opener on Aug. 7.
After opening the exhibition season with a cross-country trip, the 49ers are scheduled to play host to the Denver Broncos at a date to be determined, Aug. 14-18, in the first American football game staged at the Santa Clara stadium.
In the first two weeks of the exhibition season, the NFL will experiment with new protocol on extra points. The ball will be spotted at the 20-yard line for PATs -- for the equivalent of a 38-yard field goal to gain the extra point.
Levi’s Stadium will officially open for business on Saturday, Aug. 2, for a Major League Soccer match: San Jose Earthquakes against Seattle Sounders FC.
The next week, Sunday, Aug. 24, the 49ers will play the San Diego Chargers at Levi's Stadium in another nationally televised game on FOX.
The 49ers close out the exhibition season with a game Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Houston Texans.
The exhibition opener, of course, features Jim Harbaugh’s team vs. John Harbaugh’s Ravens in a matchup that carries none of the intrigue or stakes as their last meeting in Super Bowl XLVII. The Ravens won that game, 34-31, in New Orleans on Feb. 3, 2013.
The 49ers are set to open the NFL regular season on the road before playing host to their regular-season opener at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 14. The 49ers’ first regular-season home game is expected to be a prime-time affair on NBC.

During the first season at Levi’s Stadium, the 49ers will not play any Monday night games at home due to the first-year traffic and parking complications from hosting weekday games. However, the 49ers are in play for a home Thanksgiving night game.
This marks the third consecutive year in which the 49ers and Raiders will not meet in the exhibition season. In 2011, fan violence during and afterward marred the game at Candlestick Park. The 49ers and Raiders are scheduled to meet in Oakland during the regular season.
The NFL is expected to announce dates and times for the regular-season schedule within the next two weeks.
