With training camps set to open next month and most teams’ rosters at the maximum of 90 players, the 49ers have more salary-cap space than any team in the NFL.
The league-wide salary cap this year is set at $155.27 million per team. The 49ers, who carried over all $12.2 million of their unspent salary-cap money from last season, are $49.5 million under the cap, according to the NFL Players Association.
Teams are allowed to carry over unspent salary-cap money from one year to the next.
