The 49ers did not have an actual practice on Monday, but if they had, linebacker Patrick Willis (groin), cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha (knee) and safety Bubba Ventrone (concussion) would not have participated.

The 49ers had a walk-through on Monday afternoon as they began preparations to face the St. Louis Rams on Thursday night. The league requires teams playing on Thursday’s to provide an estimation of practice participation status on Mondays.

Willis sustained a groin strain late in the third quarter of the 49ers’ 27-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. After Willis underwent evaluations on Monday, a source said Willis might be able to play on Thursday, depending on how his muscle strain responds to treatment. Asomugha was also scheduled for an MRI examination. The 49ers generally do not release the results of MRI examinations.
