SANTA CLARA –- Running back Frank Gore, who was seen getting his right hip examined on the sideline during the 49ers’ loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, went through limited practice on Wednesday.
Gore, cornerback Tramaine Brock (toe), wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (hamstring) and nose tackle Ian Williams (shin) were all limited in practice, as the 49ers began preparations to face the New Orleans Saints.
[MAIOCCO: 49ers LBs Willis, Skuta do not practice]
Linebacker Patrick Willis, who has missed the past two games with a toe injury, did not practice. Linebacker Dan Skuta (ankle) was also held out of practice. Defensive lineman Justin Smith, who typically takes off Wednesdays, did not practice. He is not injured, the team reported.
When asked after Sunday’s game about his hip, Gore said he was fine. He returned to action and was on the field as the 49ers were kept out of the end zone in the closing seconds of their 13-10 loss to the Rams.
