SANTA CLARA -– Neither Vernon Davis nor Anthony Davis practiced in any capacity on Thursday, casting more doubt on their availability for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tight end Davis sustained back spasms and right tackle Davis sustained sprains to his left knee and ankle in the 49ers’ game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Cornerback Tramaine Brock will miss his fourth consecutive starter with a sprained big toe.
Kansas City wide receiver Donnie Avery has been ruled out for the game due to a sports hernia. A.J. Jenkins, the 49ers’ first-round draft pick in 2012, is expected to see significant playing time in his place.
