Jed York runs the only California football team that isn't connected to a potential Los Angeles relocation, but he's convinced at least one move will be made.
Speaking at the 2015 Veritix Sports Facilities & Franchises conference on Friday, 49ers CEO Jed York addressed a potential NFL franchise moving to LA, saying he expects at least one team to make the move by the 2016 season.
“I think you’re going to see one -- if not two -- teams in LA next season," York said, according to Sports Business Daily. "The teams will begin construction, but also play in a temporary venue, because it’s hard to say, ‘Hey, we’re moving to LA. We’re building a new stadium. But we’re going to stay here for the next two seasons.’ That’s a very tough sell. ... You’ve got the Inglewood site that is shovel ready. It’s much further ahead than any other site. ... Carson is a viable site, but Inglewood is ahead because you could literally start tomorrow.”
