The 49ers activated linebacker Michael Wilhoite off the active/non-football injury list, the club announced on Tuesday.
Wilhoite sustained a leg strain while working out prior to training camp and was placed on the NFI, where he spent the first three weeks of training camp.
Nick Moody has been filling in for Wilhoite at inside linebacker. Wilhoite, a 16-game starter last season, is expected to line up next to NaVorro Bowman in the 49ers' starting defense to open the season.
